Cloud Computing is the fastest thing currently sweeping the IT world, according to one industry expert.
Phil Wainewright, vice-president of EuroCloud, said that over the next few months and years, cloud computing will become the norm for businesses rather than the exception.
“It’s growing somewhere between – depending on who are you talk to – 25 to 40% a year. Although an eighth of the spend is a minority at the moment, it’s growing very rapidly and is going to become mainstream very fast,” he expanded.
In the near future, businesses are likely to mix data management solutions to use a blend of cloud, software and in-house processes, however, in the longer term more and more will move to the cloud, Mr Wainewright said.
Last week week, Wainewright suggested cloud computing is the perfect option for companies with offices and staff located in different parts of the world.
